Why jade, why now.

We started Still. because we couldn’t find what we were looking for: a light source that felt like a ritual, not just a fixture. Most lamps are engineered to illuminate. We wanted one that could settle a room — and the person inside it.

Jade felt right from the beginning. It is one of the oldest stones in the human story. It has been carried for calm, worn for protection, and placed on altars for thousands of years. In ancient China, jade was called the stone of heaven — believed to hold the energy of balance and focused calm. In Mesoamerican tradition, it was the color of life itself. Across cultures and centuries, people have reached for jade not because it is decorative, but because it feels grounding. Cool to the touch. Quiet in the hand. Real. When we saw natural green jade glow softly from within, we knew: this was the lamp.
